Have to shout out a great new wine store in Boston. After attending an open house of a “modernized” brownstone in Beacon Hill, we wandered into Gordon’s in Downtown Crossing on Temple Place yesterday and fell in love. The space is beautiful. The folks that renovated the property in Beacon Hill should have given Gordon’s interior designer the nod because they so much more successfully nailed that sleek modern, industrial look.
The folks working there were super friendly and knowledgable and the prices seemed great. Other wonderful things:
They are open on Sundays!! Love this as so many Downtown/Financial District wine stores close on Sundays.
They offer a 20% mixed case discount. All the time!!
They sell New England Charcuterie (Moody’s). I picked up a Tartufo – Salame with White Truffles – that was possibly the most delicious thing I have ever eaten.
They have close to 50 wines available for tasting all the time.
Starting next week they have free delivery in the Boston area.
And they love dogs! I have a serious new crush.
And the icing on the cake? jm Curley is now open on Sundays as well!! They started doing brunch/lunch about three weeks ago which means you can now score a drink there on a Sunday afternoon. Boston just keeps getting better!

I’ve got a Gordon’s near me, in Waltham. I don’t make it there too often. Let me know if you find anything particularly interesting at the DTX location, and I’ll take a look in Waltham

Will do! I picked up a bottle of Puffeney Arbois Cuvee Sacha from Jura yesterday but I have not tried it yet. They seemed delighted that I like the wines from Jura so I will pick their brains next time I’m in there for some funky choices. Speaking of Waltham, have you tried Backdoor ay Moody’s? Or their New England Charcuterie? I’ve only tried their salume and wow!!!
