Oysters: Legal Seafood Chestnut Hill*****

We have eaten oysters from all over the world and, at the end of the day, New England oysters are our very favorites with Massachusetts coming out on top.  Living in Boston we have eaten plenty of Massachusetts oysters from every oyster house in town.  The best?  Obviously it is subjective but our winner is the Legal Seafood in Chestnut Hill.  We discovered this oyster gem because it happens to be right next to the Superlux theater which will spoil you for all time on all other movie theaters.  I have, however, never eaten anything BUT oysters there so I cannot comment on the rest of the food but the oysters we had there are truly some of the best we have ever sampled.

Legal has a facility that tests every batch of oysters that come through the door so you are generally in good hands safety wise eating oysters at any Legal restaurant.  That said, the quality of the oysters does vary quite a bit and that it where the oldest standing Legal Seafood really shines.  The Sandy Necks are from Barnstable Harbor and the Merry oysters are from Duxbury.  The Sandy Necks get the Pearls and Oysters Award for best oyster of the year!
